Our Technique Evolution
From conventional FUT to algorithm-driven NeoDHT — a journey of continuous innovation by Dr. Nav Vikram
FUT — Follicular Unit Transplantation
The original hair transplant technique. A strip of scalp was surgically removed and dissected into individual grafts. Foundation of modern hair transplantation before FUE emerged.
- Strip surgery — linear scar at donor site
- Manual graft dissection under microscope
- Higher trauma, longer recovery
FUE
NeoOne FUE — First Generation FUE
The first generation of FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) practiced at the clinic. Individual follicles extracted without a linear incision, but limited by high-speed motors and basic storage.
- Extraction Motor: Dental motor at 12,000–22,000 RPM — high speed, higher graft trauma
- Graft Storage: Normal saline, Ringer’s lactate, or standard ready-made solutions
- Slit Making: Hypodermic injection needle for recipient sites
Platinum
NeoPlatinum FUE — Nano-Motor Revolution
A major leap forward. Dr. Vikram introduced the nano-motor — operating at a fraction of standard RPM — paired with bioactive graft preservation compounds for significantly improved outcomes.
- Extraction Motor: Nano-motor at 800–1,200 RPM (vs 12,000–22,000 RPM) — dramatically less trauma
- Graft Preservation: Plasma, biotin & other bioactive compounds to nourish and protect grafts
- Slit Making: Stainless steel blades — more precise than hypodermic needles
DHT
NeoDHT — Algorithm-Driven Gold Standard
The pinnacle of hair transplant science. Grafts are planted in a planned manner based on an algorithm designed by Dr. Vikram, using each patient’s blood coagulation parameters — making every procedure truly personalized.
- Extraction Motor: Ultra-gentle 25g nano-motor — minimal RPM, careful graft handling
- Planned Implantation: Custom algorithm based on blood coagulation parameters — scientifically optimized placement
- Body Time Calibration: Individually adjusted out-of-body duration — 30 minutes to 2 hours per patient
- Implantation Tool: Sapphire blade — ultra-precise channel creation
- Graft Storage: Culture media — mimics body environment, maximizes graft survival
How to Use the Hair Graft Calculator Responsibly
The hair graft calculator provides a preliminary range based on the area and degree of hair loss selected by the user. It helps patients prepare questions for consultation, but it cannot measure donor density, hair calibre, scalp laxity, miniaturisation or the number of grafts that can be removed safely.
A clinical graft estimate considers the size of the recipient area, desired coverage, existing hair, future loss and the visual effect created by hair thickness, colour and curl. Two people with a similar baldness pattern can therefore require different plans. The final number is confirmed only after photographs and a donor-area examination.
After using the calculator, review the hair transplant cost guide and real results. General information about hair transplantation is available from the NHS. Contact NeoGraft for an individual assessment.
