Planning your FUE consultation
Bring your treatment history and tell us which areas concern you most: the hairline, temples, mid-scalp or crown. The consultation connects your goals with the donor hair available and the likely course of future hair loss.
Learn about Dr. Nav Vikram and compare cases in the before and after gallery. Photographs show individual outcomes. Your treatment plan and expected coverage depend on your own assessment.
What is FUE hair transplant?
Follicular unit excision, also called follicular unit extraction, harvests small groups of hairs individually from a donor area for transplantation. It avoids a strip incision, but still leaves small donor scars. The number of grafts and their distribution must suit the donor supply.
Who should consider FUE?
Suitability depends on the diagnosis, donor density, scalp condition and expectations. Active or unstable hair loss needs assessment before surgery. A larger graft count is not automatically a better plan: preserving donor hair for the future matters.
From assessment to placement
- Assess: discuss your medical history, donor area, hair loss pattern and treatment options.
- Plan: agree on the hairline, priority areas and estimated graft requirement before proceeding.
- Treat: harvest and place grafts under an anaesthetic plan, with attention to their handling and direction.
- Review: follow the clinic’s washing, activity and follow-up instructions.
NeoPlatinum FUE
NeoPlatinum FUE is NeoGraft’s named FUE approach. Ask how donor harvesting, graft storage, recipient-site preparation and placement will be handled in your procedure.
Your written plan should identify the proposed treatment, graft estimate and what the package includes.
NeoDHT® and other implantation approaches
FUE describes donor harvesting. Terms such as DHI or NeoDHT® also describe aspects of implantation and workflow. The label alone does not establish which approach is best for an individual.
Read our FUE, DHI and NeoDHT® comparison and discuss the reasons for the recommendation with Dr. Vikram.

Recovery, growth and risks
Expect a healing period with possible redness, swelling, discomfort and temporary scabbing. Bleeding, infection, visible scarring and incomplete growth are recognised risks.
Transplanted hairs often shed before regrowth becomes visible over subsequent months. Final appearance takes longer than initial wound healing. Your original hair can continue thinning, so follow-up and longer-term planning remain important.
Ask for advice tailored to your work, travel and exercise plans. Contact the clinic promptly if pain or other symptoms are severe or unexpected. Follow your treating doctor’s instructions rather than a generic recovery timetable.
FUE Hair Transplant Cost in Chandigarh
The estimate depends on the planned graft count, treatment approach, donor complexity and the care included. Ask for the total quotation as well as any per-graft rate, and clarify medicines, investigations and follow-up costs before booking.
Use the hair transplant cost guide to prepare your questions. A final graft estimate requires assessment rather than a photograph alone.

FUE Hair Transplant FAQs
Common questions to discuss at your consultation.
How many grafts will I need?
The estimate depends on the area to cover, existing hair, donor supply and the agreed density goal. A graft is a follicular unit and can contain more than one hair.
Will I need to shave my head?
Donor preparation varies with the treatment plan. Ask whether a shaved or selected unshaven approach is suitable and how that changes time and cost.
Is FUE painless?
Anaesthesia is used for comfort during surgery. Injections and recovery can still cause discomfort, and the clinic should explain pain control and aftercare.
Can the donor area be used again?
Donor hair is limited. Future treatment depends on what remains after the first procedure and how hair loss progresses.
Does every transplanted graft grow?
No procedure guarantees that every graft survives. Expected coverage and possible limitations should be discussed before treatment.
